Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobites

So who was Bonnie Prince Charlie? A spoiled aristocrat who led hundreds of men to a pointless death or a Stewart hero fighting for his stolen throne? Born in exile Charlie landed in Scotland in 1745 and led an uprising against the Hanoverian state in an attempt to reclaim the throne for the Stewart dynasty. War of Scottish Independence

Scotland fought a bitter war against England for independence from 1296 to 1328. This was the time of William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, of King Edward I "The Hammer of the Scots" and the unfortunate King John I "Toom Tabard".
